Giovanni was born in Lima, Peru. He studied classical guitar at the "Conservatory of Music and theatre Rostock" in Germany with the Profesor Gerald Handrick and completed his studies at the "Liceu Conservatory" of Barcelona in Spain under the musical direction of Prof. Gillem Peres Quer.​

Giovanni has participated in several masters courses of classical guitar under the direction of:

David Rusell (Spain) Eduardo Isaac (Argentina), Prof.  Alexander Sergei Ramírez (Peru), Oscar Guilliard (Italy) Prof. Thomas Offermann (Germany) and flamenco guitar with teacher Klaus Hammer.​

He developed his work as a classical guitar teacher at the "Johannes-Brahms" Music Conservatory and the Bergstedt Music Academy in Hamburg, Germany.

In 2009 Riveros recorded his first album with the DUO ENCUENTRO (Violoncello and Guitar) for the year 2010 to carry out a tour of concerts and master classes in Peru under the coordination of the conservatory of Lima "Josafat Roel Pineda" and 5 years later he would record his second album DUO MATIZES (Flute and Guitar) with the teacher of the conservatory of Seville, Guiomar Espiñeira, with whom he offered many concerts in Germany.
